Description

These brownies are the perfect combination of fudgy and cakey, with a shiny, crackly top that will have everyone asking for the recipe. Simple to make and incredibly delicious, they’re sure to become your go-to brownie recipe!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
  • 8 ounces high-quality dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan and line it with parchment paper, leaving some overhang to easily lift the brownies out of the pan later.
  • Melt the Chocolate and Butter: In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and chopped dark chocolate over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  • Mix the Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar and brown sugar. Add the melted chocolate mixture and stir until well combined.
  • Add the Eggs and Vanilla: Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Incorporate the Dry Ingredients: Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring just until combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  • Pour and Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs attached.
  • Cool and Serve: Let the brownies cool completely in the pan on a wire rack. Once cooled, use the parchment paper overhang to lift the brownies out of the pan. Slice into squares and enjoy!

Notes

  • For an extra fudgy texture, reduce the flour by 2 tablespoons.
  • Add 1/2 cup of chopped nuts, chocolate chips, or other mix-ins to the batter for additional flavor and texture.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.
